NTV is a UAE based Malayalam Channel by the pioneer production house of
Kerala.NTV comes as a channel on E-vision on channel no 742.
NTV is and has been for about two decades, as pioneers in Malayalam television
programme productions. The name NTV is synonymous with the Malayalam television
programmes.Serving all Malayalam channels including the state owned Dooradarshan,
NTV has produced thousands of episodes of hundreds of programmes
The company was founded by Mr.Leen B Jesmas and Mr.Elias John in the year 1992.
With the emergence of the satellite channels NTV made a break through by producing
some of the most popular current affairs programmes on mini screen like 'Kannadi',
'Jalakam','Aniyara', Saakshi, Vicharana.The creators of this quality programmes won
10 Kerala state Awards and many other recognitions
NTV has always been a springboard for all Malayalam channels launched till date.
NTV has been the major provider of basic archival content for television, was a
major source for popularizing television channels
NTV's UAE Operations started in the year 2009 by starting a regional Malayalam channel
from this region.The channel was launched in June 2009 as the only regional Malayalam
channel of UAE.It is there in all the major packages of E-vision including the basic,E-life
and E- Pehla. NTV caters to the Malayalam speaking community across UAE,making its
reach the widest in the region. NTV programming covers a range of generes,including
News, current Affairs, Entertainment, Life style, culture and movies.
Why NTV - UAE
In an analysis of the UAE population by HSBC, it estimates that some 20 per cent,
or 791,000, of an official UAE population of 4m are Keralites; men out number women
by 2.6:1 while the median age for men is 30 and women 20.
Of the total population of UAE 65% are Asians and 40% of total population are Indians.
i.e. 1.6 million Are Indians (The Report Dubai 2007. Oxford Business Group).
Approximately more than 200,000 Keralites homes are connected to e-vision.
